Albany Update

we lost both of our games yesterday. the first one was i think 7-0 and the second one was 11-1 (that was our first goal of the tournament by the way). the team we lost to 11-1 is the team we are playing in a couple hours for the consolation game (3rd and 4th place). i think we have a shot at beating them, yesterday we had our back up goalie in who isnt that bad but he admited he had a really bad game. after our game im going to try to come back and take a shower before we leave if the hotel lets us check out early. after that its a 7 hour trip back home, hopefully with no traffic this time.

Quick Albany Update

we played the first game of the tournament yesterday and lost 6-0 :( the team we played was U18 and were U16 and their U18 league is higher then ours, so they were bigger, faster, stronger but we still gave them a very good game. what really hurt us were the penalties. i think 5 of their 6 goals were on a power play (where we have someone in the box and so less people on the ice). several times in the game we had 2-3 players in the box and were playing 5v3. also what made it a whole lot worse was the fact that we have a very short bench. here in this tournament we have 11 skaters and 2 goalies. several players werent able to make it like peyk who had to back out 2 days before the start of the tourney. so when you have a total of 11 skaters and 3 of them in the box that leaves 8 players to kill the penalty and keep playing. the way we rolled our lines was 4 defense men and 7 forwards. so we had 2 full lines of forwards and a floater. oh and i almost forgot to mention the team we played is like soon to be pro. i dont what it was but i felt like the air was really thin, i would come off the bench after every shift unable to breath and then what made it worse is with only 2 lines i had to go back out before i had caught my breath so it was a very fun game (i consider it fun when its very physically challenging). the very best part of the game was that WE PLAYED IN A PROFESSIONAL STADIUM!!! this is what the times union center looks like except the seats were more filled in (well not exactly) and it was a hockey rin instead of a basketball court: http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/sien/graphics/times-union-center-lrg.jpg

our next game is against Suffolk PAL at 11:15 and then we have a game at 9:30 against Oswego Minor. also i ran into a parent of one of the kids on the Suffolk PAL team and he said they beat Oswego yesterday 4-1. he said the oswego team is very big but are also slow. if we win our next two games im pretty sure well be in the championship.

GOT MY PERMIT!!!

yes its true i finally got my permit. i could have gotten it over a month ago and i went to the dmv like 5-6 times but every time something just got in the way. i aced the sign part then missed one on the knowledge exam. the vision test was kind of sketchy. i went up to the counter lady and asked if i could pass the vision test without my contacts and glasses and she said to look in this thing. i asked if this was the real vision test and she said no so i did it and she said i did good but i never did anything having to do with my eyes for the rest of the time there so i guess it really was my vision test.

well now im going to cut my hair (this will be my second time cutting my own hair) then im taking a shower and doing some hw till my dad gets home. when he does were going to my school parking lot to get some driving practice in, and i cant wait! i already know how to drive manual i just need to get used to automatic.

Why I Havent Posted in a While

quite a few people have been asking when and how often im going to post and i really dont have an answer to that yet. lately i have been spending a lot more time on school work and trying to get my grades up and spending my free time with my family. i guess a big part of the time taken off from this blog is because blogging had become kind of like homework where i just had to get something up everyday just so home page looked a little different each time you visited. that resulted in lower quality posts often about irrelevant, unimportant, uninteresting little things going on in my life. i want blogging to go back to being a hobby not a homework even if that requires a little time off. i dont want to have to make the reader search for something in my posts that interested them but instead have every post be intriguing and educational. also i would like to shift the span of the focus of this blog to include more religious and biblical posts. for a while now i have had the idea of making a quiet time page where i would post the quiet time daily and have people write comments about what their message form that day’s quiet time was. this would be especially helpful in actually getting my to do my quiet time more often since i often slack off. i think the QT page would be more feasible with a wordpress.org blog so i have been waiting to find the time to switch but just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

also for the super bowl poll the final results were:

Cardinals 25% (3 votes)
Steelers 42% (5 votes)
I dont care 33% (4 votes)
TOTAL VOTES: 12
and since the steelers won that means the visitors of michel mikhail’s blog out smarted some annalists and correctly predicted the outcome of the super bowl.

Monthly Views Report for January and Other News

total of 1001 views which is less then half of last month,

post-on-2-1-views-of-the-month-of-jan

Now i dont care how many views i get, my blog is there if you like it visit it, if you dont like it then dont visit it. im not going to beg anyone to go to it.

in other news i still havent got my permit :( dont now when i will. i ran a 5 minutes and 12 second mile which is a personal record. my previous best was 5:14. i ran that at my last indoor track meet which was yesterday (friday). we won our hockey game yesterday 5-4 against the upper A Metro team. they got like 3 fluk (meaning they got completely lucky bounces of the puck and scored on the worst shot from the worst places because the puck bounced or hit somehting out of no where or something like that) goals in the beggining of the game but instead of getting discouraged and quitting we played even harder and kept firing at the net. i got banned off of facebook again :( im pretty sure its permanent this time but i emailed them anyway. i did make a knew account though, its Michel Mikhail so add me.

oh and CARDINALS ARE GONG TO WIN!!!!

im going to the anual super bowl party at my church heres the info about it they sent in an email:
